CHANNA PULAO
This is the simple version of channa pulao.It can be quickly made and tastes great.

INGREDIENTS
Basmati rice-1cup
White channa-1/2cup
Onion-1big
Green chilli-3-4num
Ginger garlic paste-1tsp
Channa masala powder-1tbsp
Coriander leaves-1 1/2tsp
Lemon juice-2tbsp
Salt-as required
TO TEMPER
Oil/ghee-3tbsp
Cloves-1
Cardamom-1
Cinnamon-1inch
Bay leaf-1
Staranise-1
METHOD
- Soak white channa over night.Before cooking soak basmati rice for25-30min.
- Slice onions and slit green chillies.
- In pressure cooker,add oil or ghee and temper the items mentioned under 'to temper'table.
- Add onion,green chillies ,saute for a minute and add ginger garlic paste.
- Saute for another 1 min and add channa masala powder and fry for a minute.
- Now add soaked channa and rice.Mix well.
- Add 1 1/2 cup of water and salt.cook for10-12 min in simmer.Otherwise pressure cook for 2 whistles in medium flame.
- After pressure releases,add coriander leaves,lemon juice.Now channa pulao is ready to serve.
